's December !!   The busiest time of the year for many, and therefore the busiest newsletter of the year.  We're all up to our tonsils no doubt in Christmas parties, marzipan and Amazon vouchers, but if I could indulge you for a couple of minutes to read our very busy December newsletter.
Firstly, if you would like more regular updates on the Society, could I suggest that you follow the Society's facebook page.  In that way, you will receive more regular updates and reminders on events - here is the link:-
There you will find plenty of news and photos regarding our recent events, the hugely successful race night at Happy Valley, the Family Sports Day at Cyberport and of course, the wonderful Celtic Connections Christmas Concert last night at St John's Cathedral.  A huge debt of thanks and congratulations to all involved in these events.
Whilst we're in congratulatory mode, on behalf of the Society, may I offer a huge Bula Bus and congratulations to Siobhan Haughey and Thomas Heffernan Ho on their recent successes representing Hong Kong at the Asian Games in Seoul.  Siobhan, daughter of former Society President Darach Haughey and Canjo, won bronze medal in the relay and 4th in the 100m freestyle.  Thomas, a son of former Irish Honorary Consul to Hong Kong, Irene Ho and her husband Fred took Bronze in the three day Equestrian event.  Well done all.
Congratulations must also go to our wonderful committee member Lynne Mulholland-Ul and her husband Matt on the birth of their second child Lisa Claire - congratulations Lynne, there's some sparkles on ice waiting for you at the pub.
Coming up next:-
The Society's Children's Christmas Party will be held on Sunday 14th December in Cyberport 3pm to 6pm (see attached flyer).  Please email to register your child - it promises to be a great afternoon.
The Society's Xmas Drinks will be held at Delaney's Wanchai on Thursday 18th December from 6.30pm.  There'll be traditional Irish music and all our welcome to come along, watch, listen and play.  Just turn up.
Tickets for the Society's Annual Ball will go on sale next week - advance booking - for those who would like to give their loved one or budzo a gift of a Ball ticket for Christmas.
Our Budzos at the Young Irish Professionals are organising their Annual 12 Pubs of Christmas, Saturday 13th December, starting from Delaneys at 6pm - it's for a great cause - hope they make it safely around the 12 pubs.  If you're out and about that night and you see a budzo in a silly reindeer jumper, look after them, they're doing it for charity.
Before I finish, thank you for the lovely feedback we received on our November newsletter.  It's always great to hear from members and those who may no longer be living in Hong Kong.  If you have any comments or suggestions, please feel free to email me or the Society at  We look forward to hearing from you.
Are we done yet?  Once again check out our facebook page for almost daily updates and stories St Pats Facebook .  It's a busy time of the year, too much for some of us.  I hope you get some quiet time with your budzos and loved ones over the holidays.  Have a great time.
