Hi all
Spring has well and truly arrived, as well as the biggest celebration our community will enjoy for a long time.  The All Stars arrived safely on Wednesday; following them a stream of visitors have arrived to celebrate the weekend with us, including friends of old, indeed some of my family, Dargle, Ambassador Paul Kavanagh and Minister Brendan Howlin.  A huge Hong Kong welcome to all of our overseas guests.
So what's ahead?
Friday - Football Club
If there is one event that you should  bring your friends to attend over the weekend, please make it the Football Club TODAY.  The Kids Party starts at 4pm.  The Jim Stynes Cup is at 6pm and the Ladies All Stars play their exhibition match at 7pm.   There will be cash bars, food stalls and great entertainment.
It's a once in a lifetime chance to see these Irish stars play in a unique setting.  Before the game, there will be a chance for our younger community to participate in the Players' Parade, our own St Patrick's Day Parade.
There will be on pitch performances from Echoes of Erin, Island School Choir and young Niamh Neville performing the National Anthem of Ireland.  It promises to be something special and TG4 are covering the event for television.  Wear green or your county colours.  Bring your friends.  Entry is free.
Saturday  - Annual Ball
Kindly supported by our Platinum Sponsor Monex Financial Services and our Society Patron, PCH International, this year's Ball is a sell out with over 430 attending.  Admission is by ticket only. if you have any questions.
Dargle will play from 3pm outdoor on Sunday at Delaneys Cyberport - a relaxed way to unwind from a hectic weekend.
At Kila, the Galway Ramblers and Ciaran Murphy will be performing from 4pm as part of their Guinness Sessions.
 Monday - Mass & Cenotaph
Mass will be at St Josephs Church at 10am - followed by Irish coffees (if you would like to bring a plate of scones, pastries or biscuits to share, please do)
The Remembrance Ceremony at the cenotaph will take place at 12noon
There will be a lunch afterwards at Delaneys Cyberport for those who are free.
Monday evening
If you still have some energy left in you, there's live music at Delaneys Wanchai Dargle - from 6pm - when Dargle will provide one rip roaring session before returning to Ireland.  Kila and Rula Bula are running events all day as well.
And they're just the highlights !   Keep up to date of all the event photos on facebook: -
Lastly, may I on belhalf of the Society wish all of our members and friends a wonderful St Patrick's Weekend, wherever in the world you are.
Go raibh míle maith agat agus slán go fóill
