HKGAA.
The big news of Irish interest around Hong Kong at the moment is that the HKGAA are welcoming Pat O Shea to Hong Kong, from 14 May to 23 May 2012. Pat O Shea is a former All Ireland winning manager with Kerry in 2007 and has co-authored a book on Gaelic Football coaching. Currently, he is one of the development officers for the GAA in Ireland. Whilst he is here, he will be working with HKGAA club members to provide Gaelic football coaching certification to IB PE teachers and will conduct numerous coaching sessions in the International schools of Hong Kong. Pat will also provide a coaching course to any adults who are interested in coaching or who are currently involved. He will conduct training sessions with the HKGAA adult teams and will also provide advice and updates to the HKGAA committee.

As mentioned in an earlier newsletter, the “one year to go” lunch is gathering momentum. On Friday 1 June 2012 a star-studded collection of rugby greats will officially On Friday 01st June 2012 a star studded collection of Rugby Greats will officially launch the countdown to the Lions’ 125th anniversary Tour that will begin in Hong Kong against the revered Barbarians exactly a year later.
At the wonderful Four Seasons hotel, rugby greats will officially begin the countdown to what promises to be the biggest rugby event in Hong Kong in 2013.
With exclusive insight into both the Lions and the Barbarians from respective team managers, Andy Irvine and Derek Quinnell, a sumptuous lunch that includes all drinks for the three and a half hour event, as well as an opportunity to take part in a high-quality auction, this is a rugby event not to be missed.
